• Mobile clinic serving the remote rural areas
  •  Income generating projects:

1.    Co-ops:  Have 2 functional agricultural co-operatives, this is only the beginning of providing jobs to the people and taking them out of poverty. We took some of the care givers who have been working in the gardens for some time, who have shown passion for agriculture, and we then organized them into co-ops, trained them on running small business. The agreement is that we (RUCC) will continue as their partners, and 15% profit comes to us. This fund will assist us in starting other co-ops and to have a self-sustained ministry. The co-ops started in June, expecting first yield in September.

2.    Bead work and sewing:  We started this project from the bead income we received from Willow. We trained 4 ladies who were previously doing traditional beading and traditional attires as a hobby, we polished that skill and added a flare of fashion so that they can fit into today’s market. We started with aprons, jewellery and home making stuff like beaded place mats.

3.    Garden expanded: Through the funding from Willow we fence, plough and provide seedlings to the poor, the sick, and to our care givers for gardens. This year we had a number of people from the communities, who are not beneficiaries to the project, joining in saying they want to  plant gardens for themselves and for others, because they have seen that t what we do works, moreover they didn’t want any funding from us but said they want us to monitor them, this happened in Lucwecwe clinic, Ngcobo; Qoba village Engcobo and Ntshabeni clinic, Fairfield. It was encouraging to us, because the reason we plant these gardens, we want our people to go back on tending the land and not wait upon government for grants, these shows that steady but sure we will get there.

4.    Drilled 2 successful boreholes at Efama and Maqanda. One is currently being drilled at Qokolweni village. The borehole at Fama attracted a group of people, unbelievers, about 30 of them from one nearby village. They came and asked to be prayed for and to join the church, saying that they were touched by this church that showed so much love and relevance to their needs by providing them with water(We Thank Willow ).

5.    Youth testing for HIV: previously, in our outreaches we would see mostly adults coming in for testing, and their medical checkup. This year we have intensified taking along our youth team during outreaches, they minister in song and dance, this has encouraged other youth to come and test.

6.    Support groups strengthened: we have tied support groups to a skill or gardens to avoid stigmatization. This has revised even those that were dying, and this year we have started 2 new support groups in 2 communities.
